Rev. Valerie A. Waibel has been actively serving as a minister for thirty years. She came to us in July of 2007. Previously, she pastored two churches in the Columbus area for about twenty years while raising her two sons, Joshua and Nathan. Pastor Val earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in religion from Ohio Northern University in 1976 and holds two master's degrees in Divinity and Arts in Christian Education respectively from The Methodist Theological Seminary School in Ohio. She continues working toward a PhD. Pastor Val is an avid traveler, Val has ventured to the Holy Lands twice, Europe, and Alaska. Her hobbies include reading, walking in parks, and cooking. Pastor Val's favorite scripture is I Corinthians 13:13: "There are three things that will endure - faith, hope, and love - and the greatest of these is love."

Glen Chastain is our newest staff member, coming on board as custodian in May of 2010. Glen lives in Hamilton and is an active member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church, where he has served as member and Chairman of the Trustee Committee. As well as working here at church, you will also find Glen working part time at The Home Depot in Hamilton. We welcome Glen to our staff.

Daniel J. Dennis is our new Youth Minister here at Lindenwald. He is a graduate of Morehead State University with a degree in Sociology. Daniel has been ordained as an Elder in the United Methodist Church and has been on Honorable Location status since 1987. He has been a teacher and/or coach at Deer Park, Woodward, Finneytown, Norwood and Talawanda High Schools as well as UC-Clermont College. Daniel and his wife, Jill, have three grown children and his home church is Hartzell United Methodist Church in Blue Ash.

Bruce Dickerson is our Director of Transformational Ministries and has been in that position since 2009. Formerly he was employed by Applebees. Bruce is married to Christy and they have a daughter, Abby. He graduated from Muskingum College with a B.A. in Music. He is currently attending the United Theological Seminary working towards a Master of Divinity degree. According to Bruce, the reason he likes his job is because he is "working for the greatest boss ever ... God (sorry Val.)" Bruce's favorite scripture is Psalm 150: "Praise God in his heavenly dwelling; praise him in his mighty heaven! Praise him for his mighty works; praise his unequaled greatness! Praise him with a blast of the trumpet, praise him with the lyre and harp! Praise him with the tambourine and dancing; praise him with stringed instruments and flutes! Praise him with a clash of cymbals; praise him with loud clanging cymbals. Let everything that lives sing praises to the Lord!"

Charlene Elam began as the Director of Music at LUMC 35 years ago; she came to us from Park Avenue UMC where she had served as the Music Director for two years. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Education degree from the University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music. She also holds a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Supervision from Miami University. Charlene is currently completing her 37th year as a Vocal Music Teacher in the Madison Local School District. She spends her spare time reading and doing activities with her family. Charlene and her husband, Arnie, live in Fairfield. According to Charlene, "Music is an important part of the worship service. The position of Director of Music at LUMC has afforded me the opportunity to create an attitude of worship and means to express our gratitude to the One who gave His all for us. It has also given me the opportunity to work with many dedicated and talented individuals. I believe that there is no better way to express God's message than to sing of His wonderful works!"

Nancy McCormick does a wonderful job each Sunday morning as our church organist. She is married to Bill and they have two sons and two daughters; both of her daughters are currently serving in the military. In her spare time, Nancy enjoys reading, studying her Bible, and tending to her horses.

Linda Rouse is married to Ernie and they have three children, Ernie, Melissa and Sharilyn, and five grandchildren, Alexis, Rayden, Milo, Monty and Ryder. Since graduating from Fairfield High School, she has worked in the insurance, legal, and medical fields and has been the Administrative Secretary/Office Manager here at Lindenwald since 1998. According to Linda, she "enjoys every aspect of my job here at Lindenwald, especially being a listening ear for people when they just need someone to talk to." Linda's favorite scripture is Isaiah 43:2-3: "When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Isreal, your Savior.

Dawn Trapp is our Children's Director. She is married to John and they have three beautiful adult daughers; Eva, Beth and Janette. She is currently in the process of obtaining her Doctor of Ministry from Ashland Theological Seminary."The scripture passage below is my calling from God to serve Him by teaching the children about our living Lord, Christ Jesus. I have served God as a volunteer for many years in children's ministry, and in 2007 He called me to quit my job as a Rehabilitation Counselor and to serve Him here at Lindenwald UMC." Deuteronomy 6:4-7 "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."
